 Look at the pictures and say which of these animals you know, which of them still live in the wild and which ones have disappeared forever

Pinta Island is an island located in the Galápagos Islands group, Ecuador(/`ek.wə.dɔ:r/-a country in South America) It has an area of 60 km2 (23 sq mi) Pinta was the original home to Lonesome George, perhaps the most famous tortoise in the Galápagos Islands. He was the last known representative of the giant tortoises.

The Thylacine /`θaɪ.lə.si;n/ = Tasmanian wolf, Tasmanian tiger= a striped, meat-eating Australian mammal about the size of a large dog. It is believed to have become extinct /ɪk`stɪŋkt/  in the 20th century (= it no longer exists).

The Barbary lion was a local group of lions which are now extinct in the wild . The Barbary lion was also called the atlas lion and the nubian lion. It used to live in North Africa, from Morocco to Egypt.

The Barbary lion was large and heavy. Males weighed about 190 to 230 kilograms and females weighed about 150 to 190 kilograms These lions did not live in prides. These lions lived alone, or in pairs

 Lonesome George  is a giant tortoise from the island of Pinta The Pinta tortoise was thought to be extinct in the early part of the 20th century. Then in 1971 a Hungarian scientist studying snails on Pinta saw a tortoise on the island – Lonesome George. and in the spring of 1972, Galapagos National Park rangers brought the tortoise to the Tortoise Center on Santa Cruz for its protection.
